add a hybrid Android/direct sync mode.
i.e. display the data of the Android calendar for the past and next three weeks of the calendar and use the data from the direct sync with Google for the rest of the days. This way one can take advantage of the push functionality while still having all past and future events on the phone.
If possible, display the icons of the events even in the time range that is covered by the Android calendar.
I just found that this idea was not marked as completed yet. The hybrid sync method has been added a long time ago and is available under “Settings > Accounts” if the “Android” account and a Google account are active.

Agree, this will solve the issue of not having calendar history with the ability to push more recent events. Thanks for consideration.
