Improve the day-widget 4x1
It would be nice not only to see the current appointment, but also all appointments of the day. The actual widget isn't that handy to get an overlook over the day. The list-widgets instead are showing more than the appointments of the current day and have other dimensions than 4x1.
Since this idea was completed a while ago and all requested features are implemented, I will close this idea now.

The mentioned version 1.0.35 has been released a few minutes ago.

Ok, the next version, 1.0.35, will have a new option "Settings", "Widgets", "Day widget", "Show all-day events" (that is only visible in "next three events" mode). If this is turned on, all-day events will be displayed, too.

Hi,
the last improvements in the day widget were good - however I still would love to see the upcoming all day events showing up as well. Do you think this would be feasible? For the moment I still need to have to widgets in my home screen: calengoo's day widget and a smooth calendar widget that shows all day events....
Nevertheless many thanks for you efforts!

I would like something taller than 4 x 1, to get a view of a whole day, not just the next few events.

The font color is the color of the event's calendar. You can change this color by tapping it's name under "Settings", "Visibility/Download": http://android.calengoo.com/pagedoc/pageinstallation/pagecalendars/pagecalendars.html#visdownload
Additionally in the "next event" mode, you can use this color for the background with a white font.

Is there a way to change the font color? I like to set the transparency to clear but then the purple text is hard to see with my screen background.

yes a 4x1agenda view is more like what I was talking about.
-
Yes, it looks up to seven days forward. Ok, I will add a switch to include all-day events and the number of uncompleted tasks.

Quite fine so far. For me the "next three events" is what I wanted to to be.
How many days will Calengoo look forward? Seems like round about a week.
All day events should be display too. Currently they are missing total! What's about Tasks ? If not directly displayed why not create a "button" like the left dispalyed black date on the right, just informing like "X tasks todo". When pressed on the right it should open the tasks list.
I'll try to "ASCII" Illustratle (remebers me 10 years in the past ;-)

@calnegoo: You are right. A 4x1 agenda widget like the Smooth Calendar mentioned below would be fine!

Hmm - I see your point - however, I love the day widget as it is - it gives a good overview and I like the design. I would just like to see all day events as well or just a hint that there are all-day events so I won't miss them. I don't like the look of the agenda views too much though. They just don't fit into the design very well, however, I agree this is a personal opinion. I won't need to see the weekday and the day of the month on the left of the day view since this is shown in my clock widget as well. This could give some space... Maybe you could make it customizable...? Anyways, its a great app and I am totally happy, that comments of the users have an impact on the app design!!!

@christian Wouldn't it be better to use the agenda widget in this case? It already displays the all-day events and the tasks.
It seems to me that what many users here suggest is rather a 4x1 Agenda view, is that correct?

I agree to a refurbish of the day widget! I would like to see all day events as well and if possible tasks from my task list (I happen to miss those since I do not always launch the calendar app...)
Besides that: great app!
-
@ecbell I will add such an option, but I don't understand the problem. The current day widget already displays the next event, please see this screenshot:
http://android.calengoo.com/daywidget.png
There the next event is displayed as "Next at 9:00 PM: Sport".
Do you mean it is just not enough to display only the next event? -

I agree that the day widget is useless. I use Smooth Calendar's widget to show the next occurring events. Could you create a Next Events widget like Smooth Calendar?
-
@Shailen Sobhee: I have installed Pulse News Reader and added a widget to my home screen. It is not scrollable. It only has buttons to go three pictures to the left or the right. Do you mean that? Or do you use another home screen manager?

I need a 4*4 day widget that shows a good part of the day. Widget should be scrollable. (Widget scrolling is possible. Pulse reader has a scrollable widget)

I Just agree. The current dayview widget ist simply useless. This widget (4x1 or 4x2) should just display the next occouring events, not the next 1 1/2 hours. Just as jk wrote, Smooth Calendar is really a good app to compare how it should look! Simple and clean.
Overall this is what I've watchted out for months!
Thank you verry much! -

+1 !!!
The day widget should display just the next upcoming events instead of the dayview list. Perhaps a 4x2 dayviwe widget (but I'd personally prefer the 4x1 one)Verry good work! Thanks!
