add an option to set the background color of individual days to mark them
It will probably work that way that you can specify one or more calendars and if these calendars have (all-day) events on a day, this day will be marked with a different background color as the others.
Additionally it should be possible to mark calendars which's events will be used to shade the background, e.g. to individually mark the work time this way.
Starting with version 1.0.77 it is now possible to turn “Settings”, “Display and Use”, “General”, “Change background color on days where certain calendars (e.g. holiday calendars) have all-day events” on. Then you can choose your holiday calendar(s) to display these days with a different background color in all views.

As far as I can see there are still two options missing:
1. To use this function also for timed events (instead of marking days with all-day events only) and
2. to offer a way to mark days without having an event on that day.
This will be implemented in the future, too. If anything else is missing, please add it as a comment here.

I agree with the previous comments. Instead of having to type in an event It would be great to be able to set a background color on calendar days(or days with option to repeat) to let user know events that correlate with colors. This would still allow user to type events or notes onto that calendar day and see in one view that they are for example working that day( by assigning a background color), and have an appointment, by entering text

Mein Vorschlag ist, einzelne Kalender neben dem Datum anzeigen
zu können. In meinem Fall die Feiertage. -

Along with changing the background colors on individual days it would be nice if you could change the background colors of days using a range

I would say, not only mark days with entries with bg-colours, also days without entries. If you have a look eg at Jorte and try it out just for fun, you might know what I mean. So you could mark those days without entries and you know they're free for special bookings or for no bookings at all. Anyhow it would make things much more comfortable for users.

I agree. This would be very comfortable in week view. At the moment, you can use different calendars only which show up as different appointment colors. "Today" can be market in a different color, which is very nice. If it would be possible to mark certain appointments to trigger a selectable background color for the whole day of this appointment, they would stand out in week view at a glance. Would be very handy for instance to mark business trips - you see at a glance that you are abroad on that day even when scrolling fast.
