Make keyboard popup with single tap for event title and location
When creating a new event, I have to double tap in the Title field and Location field to get the keyboard to popup. It would be great if the keyboard was displayed with only a single tap. A single tap in the Description field displays the keyboard as I would expect. Thanks!
I will have to examine the problem, I cannot reproduce it on an HTC Wildfire or Motorola Milestone/Droid yet.

I am now using Gingerbread and SwiftKey 2.0 Beta, and the problem seems to have gone away. Can anyone else confirm this with other versions of Android or keyboards?

According to the emails I got and the comments here it seems to be a bug of the Droid X, because this is the only phone that is affected by this problem. E.g. it works correctly on my Motorola Defy with Swype and it works correctly on my Motorola Milestone/Droid. So it seems to be a bug of the Droid X phone. I hope Motorola will simply fix it with the next Android OS update.
It seems to only affect text fields inside a table. Maybe I can find a way so that it also works on the Droid X, but it seems to be a device specific problem. -

I'm running a DroidX and using the Swype keyboard and have this problem. A single tap puts the cursor in the field (any of the text fields in CalenGoo, for that matter) and another is required for the keyboard to come up. I also wonder if it has something to do with third party keyboards (i.e. non-Android, such as Swype)?

It appears that way. I have a droid x also. I've had the same problem with the keyboards listed as well as with SwiftKey

Yes, it seems to be a Droid X specific problem, only users with a Droid X have reported it. It doesn't happen on Motorola Defy, Droid/Milestone, HTC Wildfire or any other device as far as I know. Nevertheless I will try to find a solution.

Also, there is a bug (I'm using the Motorola Droid X) when you have "automatically show keyboard" selected as an option. When you hit the back key, it does not close and you cannot access the Save or Cancel buttons.

It does not work on my phone (Droid X) but it does work on my wife's phone (HTC Incredible). I'm not sure if it was ever not working on the HTC Incredible.
I can single tap in the Title field and I see the bulls-eye like I am able to type but the keyboard is not displayed. Waiting for several seconds does not help. If I tap once more in the Title field (or even the Location field) the keyboard is then displayed.
I tried 3 keyboards (Swype, Multi-touch/default, Graphiti) so it's not an issue with a specific type of keyboard.
Hope this helps
