You can already add holidays via Google Calendar:

Is that what you are looking for?

Do you mean with "Day View's start point" the time configured under "Settings", "Display and Use", "Day view", "Day start hour"?

Yes, if events are before this "Day start hour", then the arrows are not displayed, because you wouldn't be able to scroll to that time anyway. So it would show that there are events outside the visible range, but you wouldn't be able to see them in the day view at all.

But I agree, that there should be at least an option so that one can choose if the arrows should be displayed in this situation.

Thank you for this suggestion! Such tasks, that "appear" at a future date are planned for a future update. Until then you could use "Floating events" instead, which should already do what you are looking for (i.e. they will follow you on the current day when they are overdue):

Thank you for this suggestion! Attachments are planned, then it will also be possible to add voice recordings. Another feature that you might find useful is the already existing "CalenGoo Voice 1x1" shortcut and widget. It allows you to create an event by speaking e.g. "Meeting with John tomorrow at 4pm".

How do you mean that? Would you like to remove single instances of a recurring event or would you really like to remove recurrence exceptions, i.e. single events of a recurring event that were already modified? Both is already possible, please see here:

    http://android.calengoo.com/pagedoc/pageedit/pagerecurring/pagerecurring.html#recurrenceexceptions

Did you mean that or would you like to have something different?

You can just turn "Settings", "Display and Use", "Maintenance", "Move DB to SD card" on to move the database "calengoo.sqlite" to your SD card. This file won't be deleted when uninstalling CalenGoo and is automatically found after installing CalenGoo again. It contains all your settings, directly synced Google calendars and local calendars but no Android calendars. Please see "Using CalenGoo’s database" here for details: http://android.calengoo.com/pagedoc/pageadvanced/pagebackup/pagebackup.html#movetosd

Nevertheless it is a good idea to also export the colors into the settings file!

Hi! In Google Tasks a task can have only a due date but not a due time. In CalenGoo you also cannot assign a due time to a task but you can add reminders to tasks. Would you like the time of the first reminder to be displayed in the widget?

Thank you for this suggestion! It isn't possible yet to configure the calendars for each widget individually, but it is planned for the future. Then it will be possible to set all attributes individually for each widget.

@Eagle: Please just turn "Settings", "Widgets", "Agenda widget", "Scrollable widgets" on, this should fix it. Then the widget should fill its space and look better.

As far as I know the config is linked to a certain type of widget. E.g. if you add multiple "CalenGoo Day" widgets to your home screen they cannot display different things because they are all of the type "CalenGoo Day". However another "CalenGoo Week" widget can display something else even if used in parallel with "CalenGoo Day". So I will try to make a new "CalenGoo Configurable Agenda" widget that can be resized in the settings.

    > Nice and quick reply and a general good response to users

    Thank you! :-)

@Esben Thank you for this hint! Ok, I think this would be possible but I think it wouldn't be possible to have two widgets of the same type with two different sizes. So at least it would limit it to having only one widget. Maybe I should create a "CalenGoo Configurable Agenda" widget that can be completely configured including the size. I will try that.

Admincalengoo (Softwaredeveloper, CalenGoo for Android) commented  ·

Yes, that would be great, but unfortunately the size of a widget is not configurable, it is fixed. So one has to create one widget per size. It is not much work, but it makes the widget list look a little crowded.

In version 1.0.78 (which has been released a few minutes ago) a first, experimental version of a new time picker has been added as an option. You can turn it on under “Settings”, “Display and Use”, “General”, “Use improved time picker”. It offers three choices: “Plus/minus” (the standard time picker), “Numberpad” (a number pad) and “List” (there you just have to tap twice to choose a complete time). Because it is “experimental” it hasn’t been announced in the update description. Instead it is announced here to get some feedback if it is good this way or what should be changed. One thing that is missing are buttons +/-5 minutes which have been suggested here. But maybe the number pad or the list are better choices anyway, so that the +/- 5 minutes buttons are not necessary. Please try the new time picker and write a comment here if it is…

In version 1.0.80 (which has been released a few minutes ago) a few additional configuration options regarding the "list" picker have been added. Additionally the order of the hours and minutes can now be changed (vertically or horizontally) and by default it is another order as in the previous version. So if you used the time picker before and you want to change the order back, you can find these options under "Settings", "Display and Use", "General", "Use improved time picker".
The mentioned problems on small screens are still there in version 1.0.80 but they will be fixed soon.

@ratos: That works neither on my HTC device nor my Motorola devices with the stock calendar. If I try that, either the whole view scrolls up or down or if I tap&hold longer, a menu appears asking me what to do. Which device and calendar do you use?

What do you mean with "when the date changes"? Normally the date picker should display the month for the date that was previously selected for the event. How can the date of the event change by itself? Sorry, can you please give an example?

How should such an event be displayed, i.e. in which place of the different calendar views (day/week/month/agenda) should it appear?

@fraggy: You are right, but since there are no date headers in the compact agenda view, how should the empty days be displayed? Or do you mean that this option should be hidden if the "compact" style is selected?

@Rick: No problem, I have added the date format dd/mm as a third option. It will be included in the next update in about 2-3 weeks.

The alignment of the entries should be fixed with version 1.0.78 now. New events can now be added by tapping the white space on the left. New tasks cannot be added this way yet, but you can turn "Settings", "Tasks", "New task menu entry" on to get a "New task" entry in the menu.

Yes, reminders should certainly be synchronized. Reminders cannot be shared, i.e. if you share your calendar with another person, that person won't see your reminders. But if you sync two devices with the same Google Calendar account, the reminders that you enter with one device should appear on the other after the sync, too. Please ensure that the reminders appear on the Google Calendar website after entering them on one of your devices.

If you still have problems please contact me: android@calengoo.com

Starting with version 1.0.77 it is now possible to turn “Settings”, “Display and Use”, “General”, “Change background color on days where certain calendars (e.g. holiday calendars) have all-day events” on. Then you can choose your holiday calendar(s) to display these days with a different background color in all views.

As far as I can see there are still two options missing:

    1. To use this function also for timed events (instead of marking days with all-day events only) and

    2. to offer a way to mark days without having an event on that day.

This will be implemented in the future, too. If anything else is missing, please add it as a comment here.

Thank you for these suggestions! Regarding #1:

I suppose you mean the week view should display the pop-up window, but probably not the day view or the agenda view, right? So you just need it for the week view in addition to the month view?

    Regarding #2:

When using the back button to cancel editing an event, CalenGoo checks if something was changed. If not changes were made, no warning is displayed.

@Jason: Please let me explain how scrollable widgets work: The home screen manager (e.g. GO Launcher) asks the app for the data for the widget (the number of rows and the content of these rows). The app (e.g. CalenGoo) delivers the data to the home screen manager. But the scrolling and displaying of the widget is done by the home screen manager, not by the app. So if the scrolling is slow or you get an error message that there is not enough space on your home screen, these are problems of the home screen manager, not a problem of the app. Because these things are handled by the home screen manager, the app has no control over it.
